What we do in the Department of Computer Engineering

Overview

Welcome to Computer Engineering Department and Warm Greetings to you all in the name of God. Well, it is worth noting that following the resource inspection visitation carried out by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in June 2002, approval was granted to the Institution to commence the National Diploma programme in Computer Engineering Technology. A substantive Head of Department was appointed in October 2002. Consequently, the first intake commenced studies in the department in the 2002/2003 academic year. The department was in its eighth year of operation when in August 2010 the department had another visitation carried out by the NBTE for Resource Inspection to run the HND programme. Approval was granted in the year and the first batch of students were admitted in the 2010/2011 academic session, while in the 2011/2012 academic year, full accreditation was given for the National Diploma programme to run for another five years. Also in the 2017/2018 academic session, we went for full accreditation to run the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma for another five years. We are due for another Accreditation in the Year 2023.

Our Objectives

We are aimed at producing technologists with a good mastery of engineering approaches in executing Computer Engineering works but in an organization, as a team and be self-dependent.
