overview

Few years after the establishment of the institution, the need arose to have a department where services courses will be domiciled.

This prompted the establishment of the Department of General Studies by the year 1985. And the major philosophy of its establishment by the government was to promote a broad-based education designed to sharpen students’ communication skills, their realization of the need for the cross fertilization of ideas and the inter-relatedness of the various disciplines as well as bridging the gap between what would have been otherwise two separate cultures.

Between 1985 and 2019, the Heads of Department with their qualifications are:

  1. Mr. J. O, Abibu, B.A., M.A. (Eleven Years)
  2. Mr. A. E. Daniel, B.A, U.C.T.A. dip. In Salesmanship (Nine years)
  3. Mr. S. A. Adebayo, Bsc. Msc. (Four Years)
  4. Mrs. E. Ajao, B.Ed., M.Ed. (Four Years)
  5. Dr. A. B. Ajayi, B.A., M.A., PhD. (One Year)

  7. Mr. B. A. Okuwoga, L.L.B, L.L.M. (Three Years)
  8. Dr. E. A. Omotayo, B.A, M.A, PhD
