WELCOME TO FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC ILARO

Brief History the Mass Communication Department of The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro took off with 43 students in October 2016. The pioneering students graduated in October 2018 with 5 distinction students. In line with the vision, which is aligned with the corporate strategy of FPI (to be the best in Nigeria within its mandate) we have adopted an emphasis on practical training. As a polytechnic, we emphasize ‘mass communication technology’; hence for all our courses, practical contents are compulsory (in addition to those specified by the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE). Summary of Profile

Within the last three (3) years of my employment into the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro. I have been able to attend conferences both within and outside the institution with papers presented with colleagues in the academic world. Also, three journals have been produced with colleagues and a book on photo journalism was jointly written with three senior colleagues from another institution. Also, I have been privileged to be awarded TETFUND Sponsorship to pursue my PhD. In Mass Communication. In addition, I have been privileged to serve as the Department‟s Examination Officer between 2017-2019, while also being given the opportunity to serve in various committees from time to time.
