FPI SHINES AT NIPOGA 2020 - HAULS 10 MEDALS

The contingent of the institution at the just concluded 20th Nigerian Polytechnics Games (NIPOGA) tagged ILORIN 2020  returned home with two Gold, three Silver and five Bronze medals.

The games which was hosted by the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin took place between 6th and 16th February.

According to the Coach of the Polytechnic, Alhaji Fatai Adetunji, the team put up fantastic display, despite being in the mood for the first semester, 2019 /2020 examinations and that was why they were able to haul as many as ten medals.

The breakdown of the medals show that Miss Akinola Balkis won a gold and a silver medals in 10,000 and 5000 metres (Women) athletics respectively.

The other gold medal was won by Sanusi Abdulfatai in  taekwondo, where four bronze medals were equally won by Ogunsola Atiyyatul-Muiz, Akinlade Abdul-Azeez, Erinosho Abideen and Miss Awwal Zeenat.

Other medalists included Akinyele Nofiu and Ogunnubi Olamide who won a silver medal each in 1,500 and 800 metres (men) athletics respectively.
Odeleye Boluwatife also bagged a bronze medal in 5000 metres (Women) athletics.

The Rector, Arc. Olusegun Aluko, Ph. D while receiving the delegates, appreciated their efforts and promised that the institution will continue to provide favourable, competitive and conducive environment for sporting activities, which has been one of the unifying factors in the world.
