The newly elected President of Students’ Union

The newly elected President of Students’ Union

Greatest Nigerian Students! The greatest of the greatest Nigerian students! Mr. Macaulay Boluwatife Olamilekan, the newly elected President of Students’ Union, the new executives and SRCs, the elected President and the Executives of all legally registered associations and clubs on campus, the HOCs, Class Representatives and Leaderships, the most Distinguished Nigerian Students, best of luck as your exams begin tomorrow. The new leadership of the Students' Union and the entire students, with delight, I wish you uncommon luck as you start your examination tomorrow. The examination at the Federal Polytechnic is spectacularly a unique one. I had done it in the past and here I am today. I know that it is one of those factors why we are the best in the community of higher institutions. Every staff(academics and non-teaching) takes our examination seriously because we cannot afford to produce half-baked graduates; graduates without the capacity to compete favourably in the labour market or graduates who cannot use his or her adds on skills to create jobs. So, I encourage you to prepare well for all your theory and practical examinations. My dear students, do read for your examination, but avert sleepless nights because the hangover may affect you negatively during the examination. Please, plan your time to have a minimum of 5 hours of sleep every night and eat in the morning or afternoon before going to examination halls.
Furthermore, ensure you bring your identity cards and laminated registration forms (ND 1, HND 1, and PT 1) to the examination halls. As a result of late payment of service charges, you may not be able to get your identification cards on time. You (the new students) can still print your course forms and get this sorted out with the DSA on Monday 29 April, 2024. On the other hand, in HND 2, ND 2, and Part Time 2, you can use your old identity cards or temporary identity cards if you have misplaced the original ones. But you have to pay your service charges immediately after the first semester 2023/2024 examinations.
Besides, acquaint yourself with all our examination rules. My well-behaved students, do not cheat, hide incriminating materials anywhere for use,  or take phones into the examination halls. Obey our examination rules and regulations; be courteous and humble to the supervisors and invigilators. Dress decently and properly to the examination halls and where you need to ask for something; raise your hand and politely talk to the invigilators about areas where you may need assistance.
Dear Students of the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, do not be rude to examination officials.
Presently, we don’t have diesel in the Polytechnic filling station for use because of the ongoing scarcity. Despite the challenges, we will try our best to support you in doing well in the examination.
My wonderful students, do not see examination as a do or die thing. Work hard, pray and do your best in the examination. Leave the rest to God since there is life after the examination.
Finally, on behalf of my amicable management team, the academics, and the non-teaching staff, best wishes to you during and after the examination. I pray that the examiners will serve into your hands by asking questions from those areas you have read. Good luck to you all!
Dr. Akinde Mukail A. FCA
Rector, The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State
