12TH COUNCIL’S INAUGURAL MEETING; CHAIRMAN DONATES N500,000.00 TO MEDICAL CENTRE
The Chairman of the 12th Governing Council of the institution, Alhaji Garba Bilal Gashua has made a personal donation of N500,000.00 to the Media Centre for procurement of drugs to facilitate staff and students treatments.
This gesture was part of the DAY ONE of the inaugural meeting of the Governing Council which started on Monday 19th August, 2024.
On arrival the Council embarked on familiarisation tour of facilities of the Polytechnic, starting from the new school of Agriculture under construction, where the Rector, Dr. M.A. Akinde, FCA, ACTI took time to explain the details of the project.
The Council also visited the following places;
the school of Engineering, the Innovation Centre, the new 300-Seater capacity ICT centre, the Bakery, the Medical centre, the water factory, the ASUP, NASU and SSANIP buildings. They also visited the library as well as both the Radio and Television stations of the Polytechnic where the chairman granted interviews.
The Council also paid a royal courtesy call on the Olu of Ilaro and the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland Oba (Dr.) Esv Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, MFR, Asade Agunloye IV alongside some other Obas in Yewaland and the Olu-In-Council's Chiefs.
Oba Olugbenle accorded the Council a warm reception where he challenged the Council to take the institution to the next level of development, to which the Council chairman responded in afirmity. He however equally requested for the community co-operation towards achieving the feat.
The Council later had a meeting with members of staff where the Chairman solicited for the support of all staff in order to move the Polytechnic forward.
The first day activities were rounded off with a welcome dinner in honour of the Council at the ASUP hall.
