AKINOLA NOW CHAIRMAN OF BURSARS ASSOCIATION
In a significant development within Nigeria's tertiary education finance sector, Mr. Moruf Akinola, FCA, the Bursar of the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, has been unanimously elected as the new Chairman of the Association of Federal Polytechnic Bursars of Nigeria (AFPBN).
The election, which took place during the Association’s recent general meeting, was marked by a collective vote of confidence from his colleagues across Federal Polytechnics nationwide.
Mr. Akinola’s emergence as chairman underscores his reputation as a seasoned finance professional, administrator, and leader committed to transparency, accountability, and innovation in public financial management.
With decades of experience and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), Mr. Akinola has played a pivotal role in enhancing the financial administration of Federal Polytechnic Ilaro.
His tenure has been characterized by prudent fiscal policies, process digitization, and a commitment to aligning institutional goals with national development strategies.
Reacting to the announcement, the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Dr. Mukail Aremu Akinde, FCA, FCIT and his management team congratulates Mr. Akinola on his well-deserved election.
Emphasising that the appointment is not only a win for the Bursar but the Polytechnic in general as it reflects the high standards of professionalism upheld in the Institution.
According to the Rector, "We are confident that Mr. Akinola will bring transformative leadership to the Association", praying that "Almighty God will Order his steps"
Mr Akinola’s tenure as the Chairman of the Bursars Association of all the 36 Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria will expire at the end of his tenure as the Bursar, Federal Polytechnic Ilaro in 2027.
