APPLICATION FORM FOR SHORT COURSE IN DRIVING

                                                                 OFFERS PART - TIME PROGRAMMES IN

                                                                     IN THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMMES:

1. Technical Certificate in Driving Instructions

2. Professional Diploma in Driving Instructions.

NOTE: ALL PROGRAMMES ARE APPROVED BY THE FEDERAL ROAD SAFETY CORPS (FRSC).

GOALS OF THE PROGRAMMES:

These programmes are designed to produce Professional Driving Instructors with sound practical driving skills, safety consciousness and in-depth expertise in driving techniques.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES OF THE PROGRAMMES:

• A Graduate of any of the programmes would have the opportunity to be:
• An Entrepreneur that could establish and manage a Driving School.
• A Safety Officer to a private or public Garage/Motor park.
• A Manager of Drivers in an Organization.
• A Registered Instructor with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) who could train would-be-drivers.
• A Road Safety Public Enlightenment Officer of a Traffic Management Agency.
• A Fleet Manager in any public or private organization.
• A Manager of a Public Motor Park.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

The general entry requirements are:

• Three (3) credit passes in Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or NTC/NBC or General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary level with at least a Pass in English Language
• Junior Secondary School Certificate (JSSC) with evidence of two (2) years Driving Instructor.
• First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) with an evidence of two (2) years working experience as Driving Instructor.
• Valid National Driver’s License.
• Applicants must not be less than 21 years old.
• Applicants must be physically and mentally fit (Medical Certificate of fitness required)

In addition, applicants seeking admission into the Professional Diploma must possess the following qualifications:

National Diploma (ND) or National Certificate of Education (NCE) or Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a valid National Driver’s License.  Interested individuals must not be less than 24 years old.

WHO SHOULD APPLY:

• Individuals who Intend to Become Professional instructors
• Proprietors/Instructors of Driving Schools
• Public and Private Motor Parks Managers
• Transport Union Officials
• Fleet Managers
• Road Transport Safety Officers

MODE OF STUDY: The programmes will be on part-time weekend basis (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays).  Four (4) weeks for graduate Driving Certificate and Sixteen (16) weeks for Driving Instruction programme. There is opportunity for online lectures for students.

Candidate seeking admission into any of the programmes should visit the Federal Polytechnic website: www.federalpolyilaro.edu.ng and purchase the registration form online with FIVE THOUSAND NAIRA (N5, 000.00). Complete the form with the necessary information and submit. Only qualified candidates will be given admission.
