DUPE AYANGBENRO MADE FPI PROUD; CLINCHES GOLD & SILVER IN UN STUDENTS' COMPETITIONS

An HND 2 Mass Communication student of the institution, Miss Modupe Ayangbenro recently excelled in a United Nations sponsored 1st Nigerian Tertiary Institutions Conference on United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the focus on Goal 4 (Quality education) held in Abuja betweenTuesday 27th to Thursday 29th August 2024.

Students from different institutions across Nigeria competed in an open-mic debate, in which Miss Ayangbenro  represented Federal Polytechnic Ilaro. 

FPI was the only Polytechnic that made the final amongst six other contestants from universities. 

Ayangbenro Modupeoluwa led and became the winner amassing 10 points to beat Edo State University student to second position with 9 points. 

Earlier in the year, the institution's Committee On Students Competition has organised and prepared six students of the polytechnic, including Ayangbenro to submit an Essay on the role of students in the achievement of quality education. 

In the final analysis, Modupe came first in Open mic debate, thus claimed  #50,000, while she was 2nd in Essay writing competition which earned her #300,000.
