FPI PARTNERS ASSETRISE ON FOOD SECURITY
The Rector, of the Polytechnic, Dr. Mukail Aremu Akinde, accompanied by top officials, on Saturday, 24th August met with representatives of Assertrise Real Estate Limited to discuss a proposed agricultural project, aimed at cultivating yam on the institution's land.
The company's delegation, led by Mr. Rotimi Ojamamoye emphasized their intention to collaborate with the polytechnic, highlighting the potential for students' involvements.
This development, it was unanimously agreed, marks a significant step towards fostering industry-academia collaboration, capable of promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
During the meeting, key issues such as funding, risk management, security transportation, and marketing strategies and other logistics were thoroughly discussed.
According to the leader of the team, provisions have already been made for addressing potential challenges that may arise.
The Rector indicated the willingness of the Polytechnic to collaborate with the organisation provided all the details of the discussion were properly documented in a well crafted proposal alongside an MOU to be submitted by the organisation which must explain the involvement, responsibilities and the sharing formular of all parties involved.
Both parties agreed to continue negotiations, with plans to draft the said legal documents to formalize the partnership.
