Maiden Edition of Town and Gown Skill Acquisition
The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro which was established close to five decades ago is fulfilling its core mandate of producing technical Manpower to boost the National economy. This feat is made possible by the serenity of the environment and the ambience of the host Community.The hospitable nature of the host Community facilitated the stable academic calendar of the Institution and gave the Institution the needed succour to pursue its vision statement. It is in the light of this that the Management under the quality leadership of Dr. M.A.Akinde thought it expedient to increase the tempo of interaction both by the Town& Gown through the Maiden edition of the Skill acquisition programme sponsorship scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 20th November,2024. The inherent value of the training is to further cement the cordial relationship between the Town&Gown, practicalise the vocational mandate of the Institution and render its Corporate Social responsibility in a way that will make the teeming Youths of the town to be self sustaining. I must recall with appreciation the Block of classrooms built by the Olu Ilaro& the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland,Oba (Dr) Kehinde Olugbenle MFR,a couple of years ago.The colossal amount spent to construct the Building is an attestation of the good nature of the King and by extension members of the King's domain.This intellectual reception by the Host Community is a good gesture that must be replicated by the Gown. It is hoped that this will be an annual event to empower the Youths and further boost our cordiality. We are partners in progress and determined to change the narratives in a beautiful way.
