MD/CEO OGUN-OSUN RBDA INSPECTS DAM PROJECT IN FPI : SEEKS FOR COLLABORATION
In a significant development for the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, the Rector Dr. Mukail Arenu Akindele, FCTA represented by Deputy Rector, Administration TPL Lukman Lasisi, hosted delegates from the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority in the Polytechnic.
The delegation, led by their new Managing Director , Engr. Dr. Adedeji Ashiru visited the institution to inspect the proposed site for a dam project under construction, aimed at improving electricity and water supply to members of the polytechnic community.
During the inspection, the Managing Director emphasized the importance of a collaborative relationship between the Authority and the Polytechnic, highlighting that such a partnership would be mutually beneficial.
He explained that while the institution provides valuable research, the Authority will offer the expertise needed for future projects.
According to him, “This collaboration will not only enhance the quality of life and learning for the community, especially the students, it will also pave the way for sustainable development projects”.
Dr Ashiru added that “The polytechnic’s rich research capabilities combined with our technical expertise will ensure the success of this initiative and many more to come.”
The dam project is expected to significantly improve the availability of electricity and water supply at the polytechnic, thereby addressing critical needs and supporting the institution's mission to provide a conducive learning environment.
