RE: DISCLAIMER ON CIRCULATION OF FAKE MEMORANDUM ON PAYMENT OF CLEARANCE, ALUMNI, LIBRARY AND OTHER FEES
The Management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, now, Federal University of Technology, Ilaro wishes to draw the attention of all Students, Parents, Guardians, Alumni, and the general public to a fraudulent memorandum currently circulating on various social media platforms, purportedly issued by the Students’ Affairs Division of the Institution, directing graduating students to pay a total sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (₦250,000) as clearance, alumni, library and other fees, purportedly for convocation.
The Institution wishes to state categorically, that the said memorandum is fake, incorrect, misleading, and did not emanate from the Management of the Institution, Directorate of Students’ Affairs or any of its official units.
As at now, the Institution does not have any pending convocation to celebrate, having just conducted the 2024 /2025 convocation ceremony.
It should be emphasised that we do not normally issue circulars to intimate the general public on such payment schedule since such is always on our website as appropriate.
Caveat emptor; members of the University Community are therefore advised to remain vigilant and verify every information purported to be from the Institution before taking any action.
For the purpose of emphasis, the said memorandum is fake and did not emanate from the Institution.
