THREE FORMER REGISTRARS ENGAGE IN DISCOURSE TOWARDS AN EFFECTIVE REGISTRY AT THE 7TH ANNUAL REGISTRY RETREAT

The Registry Division of the The Federal Polytechnic Ilaro held it's 7th Annual Registry Retreat on June 12, 2024, under the theme "Harnessing the Power of Registry Driving Institutional Success", yesterday at Raheem OLoyo International Conference Center of the institution.

In her welcome Address the host Registrar, Mrs A.F Babatola, FCBAN admonished all registry staff to take advantage of the retreat and rejuvenate their commitments, support and loyalty towards the growth and development of the Polytechnic.

The Rector, Dr. Mukail Aremu Akinde FCA, FICT, while declaring the retreat open, emphasised the importance of registry in the Institution. He urged that each member of the Registry division should not relent in contributing their little qotuas professionally towards ensuring that the institution maintans it preferred status and leadership position among the comity of Polytechnics

The Retreat Committee, Chaired by Mr Ahmed Salman, the Deputy Registrar, Admissions, saw a robust attendance of Principal officers of the Polytechnic, Deans, and Directors, which also featured a series of insightful presentations from seasoned facilitators.

Dr. Kayode Momodu, The former Registrar Yaba college of Technology, Lagos delivered an enlightening paper on "The Roles and Responsibilities of Registry Personnel," emphasizing the critical functions that registry staff play in the smooth operation of educational institutions.
His paper highlighted the need for continuous professional development and strict adherence to best practices to maintain efficiency and effectiveness in registry operations.

As for Mr. Emmanuel Adeleye, the former Registrar, Moshood Abioloa Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State, his paper titled "Harnessing the Power of Registry Driving Institutional Success," explored the strategic importance of the registry in achieving institutional goals.

Adeleye recalled the registry's potentials and administrative prowess in driving overall institutional success.

The immediate past Registrar of the Polytechnic, Dr. Mrs. A. F. Osore (aka Mama E Registry) provided an extensive expose in her paper, "An Overview of the Registry as a Hub of Driving Education in Contemporary Times."

She underscored the evolving roles of the registry in the digital age, and the urgent need for registry personnel to adapt to new trend.

She discussed various innovative approaches and modern technologies that can enhance the registry's capacity to support academic activities of the institution.

On the health side, Dr. B.M. Jesusina, the institution's Medical Director addressed the attendees on wellness matters with a presentation titled "Stroke, Sudden Death, and Prevention."
This session aimed to raise awareness about the risks and preventive measures associated with stroke and sudden death, underscoring the importance of health and wellness in the workplace.

The retreat was hailed as a resounding success, fostering a collaborative atmosphere for sharing knowledge and best practices among registry professionals.

Attendees left with renewed motivation and valuable insights in the performance of their respective roles, which will further enhance the efficiency and impact of the Registry institutional management and development.

The occasion also featured the appreciation of Registry experienced, retired but not tried staff who had worked meritoriously to the services of the Polytechnic
