HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) PROGRAMMES
Applicants seeking Higher National Diploma [HND] admission must possess the basic entry requirements for the National Diploma Programme. In addition, the applicant must possess the ND in Architectural Technology obtained at not less than the Lower Credit level from the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro or from any other Polytechnic accredited for the programme, or its recognised equivalent plus a minimum of one [1] year post qualification relevant industrial work experience. The candidate should also request his or her institution to forward his or her official academic transcript under confidential cover to the Registrar, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro.
NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) PROGRAMMES
WAEC,GCE[O/L],SSCE,NECO,NABTEB or equivalent with Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any two subjects from the following: Biology, Chemistry, History, Geography, Further Mathematics, Economics/Commerce, Religious Knowledge, Technical Drawing/Graphic Design, Painting and Decoration, Civic Education, Building Construction, Wood Work, Basic Electronics, Computer Studies, Blocklaying, Bricklaying & Concrete Work, Financial Accounting, Draughtsmanship/ Graphic Design, Introduction to Building Construction, Machine WoodWorking, Electrical Installation & Maintenance Works, Computer Craft Practice, A pass Technical Drawing will be an advantage.

HND COURSE OBJECTIVES [FULL-TIME]
The Higher National Diploma programme in Architectural Technology is aimed at producing higher technicians for the architectural professions and other sectors of the building industry. The graduates of the HND programmes will be able to:
- prepare space programmes and working drawings for architectural projects;
- design and prepare spatial relationship, circulation and area diagrams;
- develop and prepare design drawings;
- read and interpret technical drawings and specifications and incorporate such details in the architectural working drawings;
- supervise construction works and make progress reports on simple structures;
- make presentation drawings of architectural works and draw detailed perspective with necessary renderings and requisite colour scheme;
- undertake preliminary site investigation in a relation to orientation, landscape, environment, soil form etc.
- collect information and data on simple architectural projects;
- write specifications for simple projects.
