Philosophy & Development

The National Diploma in Building Technology is aimed at producing middle level technicians that are capable of performing basic functions in Building Technology practice both, in private and public sectors. The objectives are to produce graduates that will assist the professional expert in low-rise building production in such aspects as;

- preparation of Bills of Quantities and tender documents;

- management of site works; 

- maintenance of existing buildings;

- examination of building plans for conformity with building regulations; 

- carrying out repairs, rehabilitation, improvement and alteration of existing building and related structures;

- selection of materials and techniques for new building systems; and ensuring safety, welfare and quality assurance in building construction and maintenance.
