NATIONAL DIPLOMA

NATIONAL DIPLOMA [FULL-TIME]

MODE OF STUDY :

Mode of Study: Full Time | Time-Table: Day | Duration: 4 Semester

COURSE OBJECTIVES [FULL-TIME]

The National Diploma in Hospitality Management is designed to produce graduates supervising appropriate departments in hospitality organizations. At the end of the course, the graduates should be able to; Produce Nigeria and international dishes using both local and imported food commodities. Organize accomodation in hospitality establishments. Supervise restaurants and bar operations hospitality establishments. Supervise appropraite departments in hospitality organizations. Manage small to meduim sized hospitality establishments effectively.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) PROGRAMMES

NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) PROGRAMMES

WAEC,GCE[O/L],SSCE,NECO,NABTEB or equivalent with Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science/Health Science and any two of the following:  Physics, Chemistry, Government, Business Methods, Economics/Commerce, Book Keeping and Principles of Accounting, Food and Nutrition/Home Management, Health Science, Civic Education, Tourism, Tie & Dye, Data Processing, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Geography, Home Economics, French Language, Basic Catering, Food Service, Hotel & Catering Craft Service, Geography, and Relevant NTC/NBC &NVC Trades.

HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) PROGRAMMES

Applicants seeking Higher National Diploma [HND] admission must possess the basic entry requirements for the National Diploma Programme.  In addition, the applicant must possess the ND in Hospitality Management obtained at not less than the Lower Credit level from the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro or from any other Polytechnic accredited for the programme, or its recognised equivalent plus a minimum of one [1] year post qualification relevant industrial work experience. The candidate should also request his or her institution to forward his or her official academic transcript under confidential cover to the Registrar, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro.

The Higher National Diploma in Hospitality Management is designed to produce caterers who are capable of producing acceptable dishes using both local and imported food commodities and supervising appropriate departments in large catering and hotel organizations. At the end of the course, the graduates should be able to; Plan and manage econmic operations of hospitality establishments. Manage various sections of an hospitality establishments. Manage any size of hospitality organization
